Meet Kim
Hi, I'm Kim Savel-Turek — Founder of Room to Breathe Professional Organizing, based in Reisterstown, Maryland.
I know what it feels like to walk into a room and feel stressed before you even touch anything. Clutter quietly weighs on your mind and steals your energy. I believe your spaces should feel like an exhale: calm, functional, peaceful — not chaotic or overwhelming.
I work with seniors navigating downsizing and aging in place, families moving through life's transitions, and busy households just looking for systems that actually stick — in Baltimore County, Maryland, and surrounding areas, with virtual sessions available worldwide.
My Story
Organizing didn't start for me with perfectly labeled bins — it started with awareness.
Growing up, I noticed how family habits around holding onto things shaped the energy of a space. Rooms felt full. Letting go felt hard.
When I became a mom, I was determined to do things differently. I wanted our home to feel open and breathable — like stepping outside into fresh air after being indoors too long. So I began making small, intentional changes. Not all at once. Not perfectly. But consistently. I let go of what no longer served us and built simple systems that made daily life easier. Slowly, our spaces began to feel calmer.
With two degrees in psychology, I've always been fascinated by how our environments affect our thoughts, stress levels, and relationships. I saw firsthand how physical clutter can create emotional weight — and how clearing space can create clarity. I realized organizing isn't about perfection. It's about relief. It's about creating space for what matters most: your peace, your family, your next chapter.
My Approach
Nature has always grounded me — quiet walks, fresh air, the steadiness of trees. I bring that same calm presence into every home I work in.
When we work together, you can expect:
A judgment-free, confidential, compassionate approach
Practical systems designed for your real life, at your real pace
Gentle guidance through hard decisions — especially the ones tied to memory and meaning
Sustainable systems that actually last, long after I've gone
This matters to me because I've lived it. When my own home felt heavy, I realized it wasn't just about the things themselves — it was about how they made me feel. Creating calm, organized spaces gave me breathing room, clarity, and the ability to be fully present with my family. That sense of peace is what I want for you, too, whatever chapter you're in — whether you're settling into a new stage of life, supporting a parent through a transition, or simply ready for your home to feel like yours again.
My Credentials
Kim holds a Certified Home Organizer (CHO®) credential from the American Society of Professional Organizers (ASPO), along with two degrees in psychology and years of hands-on experience helping families and seniors throughout Baltimore County, Maryland, and surrounding areas.
